Project Title: Maidstone Grammar School
Client: Kent County Council
Value: £2,400,000
Project Brief: The school refectory was housed in HORSA huts, the maths department in three mobiles and there was no 6th form study centre. As if this was not enough the school only had a small site surrounded by residential properties on three sides. By carefully planning the positioning of the buildings Keith Cattell the architect managed to design a two storey refectory (the mezzanine doubling up as the 6th form study centre) and a three storey teaching block, the top floor being an Art Studio with North Lights.
