Works commence at Aldi Store in Herne Bay
A new Aldi store, which is now being built in Herne Bay, has commenced on site with the steel frame recently erected. Work began on the 17,000 sq ft building in February on the Kings Road car park, and is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
Betteridge & Milsom are providing Canterbury City Council with construction consultancy services, including quality management and client fund monitoring services.
The scheme, which is part of the town's Central Development plan, forms phase 1 of a wider set of ideas being pursued in the Herne Bay Area Action Plan, which is part of the Local Development Framework.
Chairman of Canterbury City Council's Regeneration and Property Committee, Cllr Ben Fitter-Harding, has previously said: "We are absolutely delighted that the first phase of the Herne Bay Central Development Area is now underway"."We are looking forward to seeing the plans for the town centre developed, alongside other projects contributing to the wider regeneration of Herne Bay."
