With the growth of offshore wind farms in the UK, we were approached by Vattenfall to work on their Operations & Maintenance building, as part of the Kentish Flats scheme. The scheme is an offshore wind farm located approximately 8.5 to 13 km north of Herne Bay and Whitstable in Kent, and has been operational since 2005 and consists of 30 Vestas 3MW wind turbines, with a combined capacity of 90MW.
This project saw the construction of a two-storey steel-framed building to house the administration offices and welfare facilities to support the Vattenfall team in the Ramsgate harbour. The project was designed and built by Kent based companies and B&M are delighted with our association with the growth of this marketplace.
We were subsequently commissioned by our client to provide an extension to the building, due to the success of the project.
